The personality quiz
At the start of the adventure, you can pick your hero yourself, or take the Explorers of Sky personality quiz: nine questions drawn from the original game’s sixty-four, whose answers reveal your nature. Your nature and your choice (boy or girl) give you your Pokémon, just like in the original game. Here is the table.
| Nature | Boy | Girl |
|---|---|---|
| Hardy Determined and self-assured, you never give up. Everyone can always count on your grit. | Torchic | Treecko |
| Docile Attentive and a good listener, you quickly sense what others are feeling. Your kindness makes you a treasured confidant. | Charmander | Bulbasaur |
| Brave / Brave You face danger without flinching and stand up for those who need it. A true hero’s heart. | Pikachu | Charmander |
| Jolly / Jolly Always in a good mood, you liven up every place you go. Your laugh is contagious. | Totodile | Eevee |
| Impish You love to tease and surprise everyone around you. Behind your pranks hides a quick, inventive mind. | Piplup | Chimchar |
| Naive / Naive Curious about everything, you believe the world is good. Your fresh outlook disarms even the grumpiest. | Chimchar | Skitty |
| Timid Reserved and careful, you watch before you act. But when it counts, you show a quiet kind of courage. | Cyndaquil | Turtwig |
| Hasty / Hasty You’re always going full speed, never waiting around. Your energy carries you ahead of everyone else. | Shinx | Pikachu |
| Sassy / Sassy Confident and a bit cheeky, you say what you think. Your self-assurance impresses as much as it amuses. | Riolu | Totodile |
| Calm Nothing makes you lose your cool. Your serenity puts everyone around you at ease. | Chikorita | Cyndaquil |
| Relaxed You take life as it comes, stress-free. Your easygoing calm reassures your friends. | Phanpy | Vulpix |
| Lonely You love your independence and follow your own path. But you care about your friends more than you let on. | Bulbasaur | Mudkip |
| Quirky Unpredictable and original, you never do anything the way others do. That’s what makes you so charming. | Squirtle | Piplup |
| Quiet / Quiet Discreet and thoughtful, you say little but think a lot. That makes your words count all the more. | Treecko | Chikorita |
| Bold / Bold You dare what others won’t and you own your choices. Your boldness opens many doors. | Turtwig | Squirtle |
| Rash / Rash You act on instinct, without calculating. Your spontaneity overflows with energy and sincerity. | Mudkip | Torchic |
Some natures can also lead, in a tie, to a Pokémon from another game in the series (Machop, Cubone, Psyduck, Meowth, the Gates to Infinity and Super Mystery Dungeon starters): fate decides.
